Japan Airlines travels 143 domestic routes and 571 international routes.

Carry-on baggage

Passengers are allowed two carry-on bags that weigh a total of 10 kg. The total dimensions cannot exceed 115 cm.

Checked-in baggage

The first two checked-in bags are free (23 kg per bag). For First Class and Business Class passengers, the first three bags are free (32 kg per bag). Allowances are higher for JMB FLY ON and JGC members.

If baggage exceeds the free allowance limit, additional charges with tax will depend on the passenger’s route.

Web check-in

The web check-in service called "QuiC" allows passengers to select seats, check in on the website and print the boarding pass in advance. This means they don’t have to check-in at the airport. This service opens 24 hours prior to the flight departure.

Airport check-in

Passengers can also check in a self-service kiosk at the airport. They can select seats and collect their boarding pass.

TSA Pre

The TSA Pre✓® program is for enrolled members on Japan Airlines’ flights departing from the U.S. It is a pre-inspection process that allows passengers belonging to a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Trusted Traveler program to pass easier and faster through security checkpoints. Japan Airlines passengers who are registered for TSA Pre✓® can add their Known Traveler Number (KTN) when making a reservation on the website or through the phone.

Classes of service

The classes of service provided by Japan Airlines are First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class.

Lounge

Japan Airlines offers two classes of lounges- First Class Lounge and Sakura Lounge. Passengers can enjoy a selection of food and drinks. Privileges are also dependent on the membership.

In-flight services

Passengers of all classes receive free Wi-Fi, Skyward entertainment services, special in-flight meals, and in-flight shopping. First Class fliers have access to delicious Japanese cuisine and alcoholic beverages. Dishes are prepared specially at the lounge and the menu is updated regularly. A passenger can also take two companions with them to access the lounge.
