Going to Restaurants with Kids
|
|
What information do I need before we go to a restaurant ?
|
-
Find out if it has a kid’s eat free policy.
-
Do they have a children's menu ? If they don't, will the regular menu appeal to your kids ?
-
Are there booster seats or highchairs available ?

How do I prepare my children for a fancy restaurant ?
|
-
Don’t miss out on nicer restaurants just because you have your kids with you. If they haven’t been introduced to finer restaurants, take some time and prepare them.
-
Give them a short course on ordering, sitting properly and using the correct utensils.
-
Do a role-play so that they will know what to expect. Switch things around and let them be the waiter sometimes.
-
Use games to teach behavior. Kids enjoy those kinds of games and it is a fun way for them to learn.
-
The repetition will make it easier for them to remember how to act, once in the restaurant. Kids always remember how to play a game.
-
Just in case, bring a book or toy along to keep your child occupied through a long meal.
