Schengen Visa Insurance

We all get excited about traveling because traveling to other countries is an adreline rush. Reasons may vary. For some, traveling is a way to unwind. For others, it is the best way to learn about other cultures and way of living. Yet, for others, it is about exploring the beauty of nature. I believe that everyone has a travel list and on every travel list, Europe trip is definitely on the bucket list. Europe is indeed, one of the best scenic places one could find on the globe. No wonder Switzerland is called the playground of Europe!

Traveling entails a checklist, to begin with. This checklist begins with booking tickets and applying for a travel visa.

To boost tourism, Europe introduced the concept of Schengan Visa in 1985.

 What is Schengen Visa

22 European countries have signed the Schengen agreement and created a Schengen area that allows visitors to travel with a single visa through all 26 European countries. Of the 28 countries, 22 had signed in the first place but later on, 4 more countries came into the Schengen area.

All the countries have their laws of traveling. Some countries are open visa countries. This means that these countries allow you to travel without having a visa or any type of insurance. However, if you interested to travel to Europe, then you must have a Schengen visa or Schengen Visa Insurance. European countries have a common visa facility that is called Schengen Visa. You must note that Schengen countries have some conditions to be followed in order for you to have a Schengen visa. The very first Schengen country law of Schengen visa is that you must be covered with travel or medical insurance.

Schengen Country laws exist because people may fall sick and require urgent medical attention. Recuperating can become very difficult because of expensive medical bills that vacationers may not afford. The Schengen travel insurance policies can cover medical needs, trip interruption or cancellation, accidental dismemberment or death, passport or baggage loss. Some of them (insurers) would provide terrorist acts cover as well.

There are some other things you should know before applying for Schengen visa. There are two types of Schengen visa.

  1. Single-entry visa – In case you apply for a single-entry visa, then you will be allowed to visit any Schengen country only once.
  2. Multiple-entry visa – In case you apply for multiple-entry visa, then you can enter Schengen country multiple times. Only one thing to be kept in mind – you can’t stay in an area for more than 90 days even though Schengen visa allows free movement

Countries included under Schengen Visa are
