A Place To Visit In low Budget

Nicaragua – Low on budget. High on experience.

Whether you dream of escaping to a far-flung beach, adventuring up a mountain, wandering a new city’s streets, discovering ancient ruins, or simply relaxing lakeside, we pore over press releases, tourism statistics, where are our friends and families going on vacation? What vacation destinations are we seeing on Instagram? Which places seem to be part of the zeitgeist? But, all of this is decided by the fact- What is your Budget?

South and Central America are sometimes forgotten by residents of the rest of the world, but savvy travellers continue to flock to this region for a great variety of reasons. In addition to the cultural and scenic highlights, the entire area is quite cheap by international standards. Among the various places, one of the cheapest Destinations is Nicaragua.

Nicaragua is the largest country in the Central American isthmus, bordered by Honduras to the northwest, the Caribbean to the east, Costa Rica to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the southwest. Managua is the country’s capital and largest city. Originally inhabited by various cultures, the region was a Spanish Colony in the 16th century. Nicaragua gained independence from Spain in 1821. The rich cultural traditions have generated substantial diversity in folklore, cuisine, music, and literature. “Land of lakes and volcanoes”, Nicaragua is also home to the second-largest rainforest of the Americas. The biological diversity, warm tropical climate and active volcanoes make Nicaragua an increasingly popular tourist destination.

While Managua is the crowded capital of Nicaragua, Granada is arguably its top tourist destination for foreign visitors and backpackers. There aren’t many hostels here yet so it’s wise to book ahead even though the existing hostels are quite cheap.

Nicaragua’s oldest town is also its most beguiling and photogenic. It’s no wonder many travellers use the city as a base, spending at least a day bopping along cobblestone roads from church to church in the city centre, then venturing out into the countryside for trips to nearby attractions. The main attraction is the Horse-drawn carriages, A great and unique way to see the city, take the half-day tour, which takes you from the cemetery in the southwest to the Rail Station and then over to the waterfront. An active volcano that is still blowing smoke, the Volcano Masaya offers a red glow that can be seen by visitors at night. Tours are available both day and night. It is home to multiple Spanish colonial landmarks that have survived despite repeated pirate invasions. The city’s main plaza, Central Park, is dominated by the colourful, neoclassical facade of the Cathedral of Granada,
