Experience a death-defying bungee jump in the Kawarau river of New Zealand

The country is made up of some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes, from vast mountain ranges, steaming volcanoes to sweeping coastlines is none other than New Zealand. It is a natural playground for thrill seekers and adventurers and also those who simply want to visit for the culture and landscapes.

New Zealand is honestly one of the most picturesque and photogenic places on earth. A small island nation of just over 4.5 million populations, it is made up of two major land masses that include North Island and South Island.

It is a country so diverse and so beautiful, there’s no wonder that it plants itself on the top of many travelers to do lists. There’s a little something for everyone, from the great walks to the mountains, from the hot springs to the hobbits and from the beaches to the lakes and a high jump from a tall structure. There’s more than enough reasons to validate this amazing country as the best place on the earth

Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand is the “extreme sport” capital of the globe, adventure central for adrenaline junkies. A former gold-mining town on the banks of Kawarau river in the Southern Alps, it was here in 1988 that is famous for the world’s commercial bungee jumps or also called “bungy” jumps in New Zealand.

Todays, Bungee jumping has become a truly national sport in New Zealand. There are different ways of Bungee jumping and it depends on the tourists which they love to jump on their desires and choices. Mainly it involves from the top of the bridge, water touch Bungy, the sky jump, with a zip line and the swing bungy jumping.

In case you were not aware, bungy jumping is the act of tying an elasticized cord around your feet or waist, then hurling yourself off a crazy height in order to attain a feeling of knuckle whitening terror, which quickly changes to exhilaration as the adrenaline rush takes hold.

Generally, a bungy jump is usually made from a fixed structure such as a tower or bridge but some daredevils have even tried it from a helicopter or hot air balloon. When the individual plunges towards the ground at speeds of up to about 120km per hour (depending on height), the bungy cord stretches, then recoils, then the jumper is flung upwards again then downwards and then upwards until the kinetic energy is used up.

Queenstown, the World’s capital of adventure, provides you the breathtaking jumping spots. You can defy gravity by jumping over height between 49 and 134 meters that’s the world record.

The first commercial jumps took place from the bridge of the river Kawarau and its height of 43 meters in 1983. The 43-meter drop even allows you to dive your head into the water of the Kawarau River or touch it with your fingertips. A boat collects you on arrival and it is the most famous jump in New Zealand. It is a great classic experience at a fare of $180.

The jump spot is usually installed in very touristic zones, and you will find your happiness on the South Island especially, except if you wait for the last minute. This activity is very popular and booking is imperative several weeks in advance. Always book your buggy jumps on the internet to save money.

The price to pay for a powerful adrenaline discharge remains high, but bungee jumping is more affordable in New Zealand than anywhere else in the world.

The beauty of the landscape even improves the whole experience, with jumps platforms installed in the heart of the most beautiful panoramas of the country.
