It's easier on a cruise than for a land based vacation because it is all inclusive.  Your cabin, on board entertainment and food are always included.  Additional items that need to be budgeted for :

Remember there will be taxes, surcharges and other fees, such as airport fees, handling fees, departure taxes and port charges.  Check in advance with the cruise line to determine if any fees or port taxes are included in your cruise rate.

• Alcoholic beverages, bottled water and soft drinks will not be included.

• Transportation to reach the ship, (including airline tickets if not part of the package), shuttle service and in port parking fees are extra.

• Any costs before or after the cruise, such as hotel, transportation and meals are on your own.

• Expenses incurred while visiting ports, such as taxis, entertainment, sightseeing not purchased on-board or off ship meals will be additional.

• Shore excursions will cost over and above the cruise price..

• Of course, any shopping purchases made both either on or off the ship are your resposibility.

• If you choose to purchase travel insurance in the event of cruise cancellation or medical coverage, it will be at your expense..

• On board amenities such as the casino, spa, massages, photos, ship to shore  phone calls, etc. will cost you.
