Saint Paul is the capital of Minnesota and the second largest city in the state. One of the most famous residents of Saint Paul is Charles M. Schulz, the creator of the Peanuts comic strip. He is memorialized downtown with a bronze sculpture depicting two Peanuts characters, Schroeder and Lucy.

The marquee event of the summer months is the Minnesota State Fair which is held in nearby Falcon Heights near the University of Minnesota. This fair is attended by visitors from all over the state as well as neighboring states and features carnival rides, food, and competitions.
