Guru Travel Tips of Getting ready for the Trip

At CheapFareGuru.com provides most accurate and complete Tips and Tricks for your Health and Safety during your Trip.

  • Make a plan before leaving home and get the kids involved in the planning process.

  • Understand that some parks are so big that you probably won't get to see everything.  You may need more than one or two days at the park.

  • Some rides are more exciting than others, so you may want to ride them more than once.

  • You and your children probably have different ideas about what will be the best rides.  By planning ahead, you will have time to compromise, giving everyone their time at the park.

  • Be aware that some rides have minimum height restrictions while others post health warnings for bad backs, vertigo or heart trouble.

  • Motion sickness and the scare factor need to be considered when deciding who rides what and for how long..

  • It's better to find out in advance that you’ll have to skip a ride.  Don't be disappointed when you learn of a restriction that keeps someone from riding.

  • Your children may find enjoyment in the simple pleasures that the park offers.  The little ones will probably be interested in the fountains, parades and various the characters.

  • Call ahead to see if any of the more popular rides will be closed for maintenance or repair during your stay.

  • Find out about any special park events such as parades, light shows, live music or TV and movie filming that are taking place around the time of your vacation.

  • Often parks have longer hours during certain days of the week or days of the year.  Check to see what hours apply during your visit.

  • Dress casually and comfortably.  This is not a fashion show.  You want to enjoy your time at the parks.

  • Wear cool, loose, comfortable clothing.  Light colors reflect the sun’s rays.  Dark colors absorb it.  Natural fibers breathe easily and will dry the quickest.  Most parks have water rides that are designed to get you wet and cool you off.   Ladies ....  consider the "see through" factor if your clothing gets wet.

  • Wear light, supportive, comfortable shoes.  Remember, you will be spending a lot of time on your feet, walking and standing in line.  Bring along an extra pair of shoes in case yours get wet.

  • Cover your face, neck and arms with a good sunscreen.  You’ll be exposed for much of the day.  Build your tan slowly.  Sunburn  can ruin the whole trip.

  • Apply a small amount of baby powder to help keep your feet and body dry.  Experiment before you leave on the trip to make sure your skin isn't sensitive to the powder.

  • Bring a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses.  They can help keep you cool and save you from sun burn.  Remember, you’ll have to carry them the whole day, so bring the ones that you won't mind losing or breaking !   Consider buying little cords to hold your glasses on while you ride.

  • Never wear jewelry or any loose items that might get caught on something or become uncomfortable while riding.

  • Check with the company where you work or any associations or memberships that you might belong to, to see if they have any connections.  Often, certain park rides or events have corporate sponsorships.   You could be entitled to special seating,  use of a VIP lounge or be allowed to skip to the front of the line.

  • Ask about "second day free" promotions.  Possibly your trip could be planned during a second day free period.

  • Some parks open earlier or close later on certain days.  Check into the park's opening times, you might be able to get more time for your dollar !

  • Find out which parks open early and on what days and use the information to your advantage. Disney World, for example, offers early entry to certain parks on certain days for anyone staying in Disney Hotels.  If you’re staying at Disney, make use of the early entry.  If you’re not, avoid the early entry parks, they will be full of Disney hotel guests.

  • Often parks have light shows, fireworks, parades or live music only on certain days.  Ask the park for its schedules with this information.  It  can be found by directly contacting the park or at some tourist information centers and local hotels.

  • Bring a plastic freezer bag to cover your wallet for those wet water rides.

  • Don't forget rain gear.  Especially in Central Florida, the Theme Park capital of the world.  It is famous for unexpected, heavy showers.  You can have clear skies one minute and a total downpour the next, during the afternoon from June to September.  Check the local weather forecast to see before heading for the park.

  • Pack an extra pair of comfortable walking shoes and socks.

  • Carry a collapsible plastic water cup to help you at drinking fountains.

  • Bring a "fanny pack"  to alleviate carrying all the items that you’ll need.

  • If there are two adults in the group, consider bringing an extra set of car keys.  Better safe than sorry !
