Vallejo is a city that is located in the central western region of the US state of California. It is the largest city in Solano County and is located near the greater San Francisco Bay metropolitan area. It was named after General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo. English is the official spoken and written language of Vallejo, although there is a significant percentage of the population that also speaks Spanish.

The city was founded in 1851 and even served as the capital of California for a short time before the capital was permanently moved to Sacramento to the south.

Vallejo has a Mediterranean climate which means mild temperatures year round. Summer temperatures generally stay in the 70's or 80's Fahrenheit while winter temperatures rarely dip below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Summer is the dry season with scarce rain. Most of the areas rainfall occurs during the months of January through March. The rest of the year is fairly dry.
